Invitation to Tender for Contract Area Land Agent - Aberdeen AreaDue to the unexpected departure of a part time member of staff, Forestry Commission Scotland requires Land Agency services to support their Aberdeenshire Forest District Manager for a minimum of 6 months. Examples of current casework include Leases and Permissions including for Windfarms, Excambions, Land Disposal, Water and Access Servitudes and Boundary Adjustments. Experience of the full range of rural estate management work is essential as well as membership of the RICS. Tenders must be submitted in a sealed envelope, clearly marked “Tender for Contract ALA Aberdeenshire”, by 12 noon on the 9 January 2009. Applicants may be invited to attend an interview following consideration of the bids. Interviews will be held at the Forest Enterprise Scotland Head Office in Inverness at a date to be agreed, and will be conducted by the Head of Estates and the Forest District Manager. Forestry Commission Scotland-Recreational Service in Galloway Forest ParkForestry Commission Scotland is inviting expressions of interest from businesses who would like to provide a recreational service at any of four sites available within Galloway Forest Park. The four sites available are Corwar, Craigencallie, Caldons and Glenhead. All interested parties will be expected to produce a 10-year business plan of their proposal, which will subsequently be marked according to criteria such as: - Generation of income to Galloway Forest Park
- Turnover
- Sustainability/long term aspirations of idea
- Innovation/competitive edge, i.e. use of green technology
- Good understanding of FCS requirements
- Fit of business within the community
- Addressing the constraints of the sites

FORESTRY COMMISSION - SCOTLAND EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST FOR GROUND PREPARATION, PATH WORKS & MINOR MAINTENANCEForestry Commission Scotland wishes to establish a Framework Agreement with suitably qualified and experienced contractors and companies to deliver forest management ground preparation (predominately Mounding), minor path works, road and path repairs and pond creation. The Agreement will last for a maximum of 4 years and projects awarded under the agreement will be for a maximum of 3 years. No guarantees can be given as to the number of projects awarded throughout the contract period and indeed the Forestry Commission reserve the right not to award any project under the agreement. The Agreement will cover all of Scotland with individual projects being awarded at forest district level. The total estimated value of the Agreement would be £10 million. Expressions of interest for helicopter fire management - WalesCoed Y Cymoed Forest District (South Wales) seeks suitably qualified and experienced contractors to carry out a 5-month standby and call-out contract, for fighting forest fires by aerial application of water. Estimated contract value could be up to £45000 but is ultimately determined by weather conditions. Start date April 2009 You must be experienced contractors who can demonstrate a successful track record in forest fire management and are currently holding all relevant aerial application certifications and registrations.
